Alustra® Woven Textures® Roller Shades
Alustra® Woven Textures® Roller Shades are an understated, sophisticated alternative to a roller or solar shade, in Hunter Douglas's exclusive Alustra® fabrics.
Alustra® Woven Textures® Roller Shades take the fabrics from the Alustra® Collection, Hunter Douglas's exclusive, thoughtfully curated collection of design-inspired fabrics, and put them on the cleanest shade form there is. One flat panel of fabric, rolled neatly at the top. Hunter Douglas calls it an understated yet sophisticated alternative to roller and solar shades, and that is exactly how I show it.
The fabrics are the reason to buy. They are unique and globally sourced, including a group of fabrics designed by Lori Weitzner, with more than 70 fabric and color choices running from sheer to semi-opaque. The same fabrics come as Roman shades and Skyline® Gliding Window Panels, so a room with a slider and a row of windows can carry one textile across all of it.
Light and privacy do not have to be a trade. The Duolite® version pairs a sheer or semi-sheer fabric with a color-coordinated room-darkening liner in a single shade, and the Dual Roller design puts two shades on one window. Finish the top with the Square Cassette 2.0 or another top treatment, and choose exclusive metallic hardware finishes if you want the details to match the fabric.
For automation there is an Internal Rechargeable Battery that hides inside the roller tube, so there is no visible power and Hunter Douglas says it gives the smallest mounting depth for an automated shade. Hunter Douglas calls it their quietest battery-powered shade yet.

Questions Jim gets
About Alustra® Woven Textures® Roller.
How is this different from a Designer Roller Shade?
Same clean roller form, different fabric book. Designer Roller Shades carry Hunter Douglas's broad roller collection. Alustra® Woven Textures® Roller Shades carry the exclusive Alustra® fabrics, the woven, textural ones, including fabrics by Lori Weitzner. If the room is about the textile, I open this book. If it is about function and range, I open the Designer Roller book. I bring both.
Can I get privacy at night with a sheer Alustra® fabric?
Yes, with the Duolite® option. It pairs your sheer or semi-sheer fabric with a color-coordinated room-darkening liner in the same shade, so you keep the look by day and close the room at night. The Dual Roller design does the same job with two separate shades on one window.
Can these be motorized without a cord or a visible battery?
Yes. PowerView® Gen 3 Automation is available, and the Internal Rechargeable Battery hides inside the roller tube, so nothing shows at the window. Hunter Douglas says it is their quietest battery-powered shade yet and gives the smallest mounting depth for an automated shade, which matters on a shallow window frame.
