Custom Vertical Blinds
Hunter Douglas Custom Vertical Blinds are an updated style of a classic, in fabric and vinyl, for sliders and wide runs of glass.
Hunter Douglas Custom Vertical Blinds cover the openings a horizontal blind fights: a patio slider, a French door, a wide run of glass. They come in a wide range of colors, textures and patterns, in fabric and in vinyl, with four vane styles: fabric, vinyl crown, vinyl S-curve, and laminated fabric S-curve.
Hunter Douglas's fall 2026 enhancements center on a sculpted headrail. Flush end caps give it a tight, symmetrical fit, and hidden mounting brackets close the space between the rail and the mounting surface, so less light leaks around it. The headrail comes in six colors, a damaged vane clips out and a new one clips in, and a valance is available if you want the rail covered.
You choose how they stack, left, right, split, or center, so the vanes park clear of the door you actually use. The Backstacker upgrade stacks the vanes from the back for an easier pull and a clearer view. One traveling wand both tilts and traverses, an operating system Hunter Douglas designed for enhanced safety in homes with young children and pets.

Questions Jim gets
About Vertical Blinds.
What is the Backstacker?
An upgrade to how the vanes stack. A standard vertical blind stacks up directly behind the wand as you push it open. The Backstacker stacks the vanes from the back instead, which makes it easier to operate and leaves a clearer view. It comes on left, right and split stacks, not center.
Which way should the vanes stack?
Left, right, split, or center. It comes down to where the door handle is and how you walk through the room. Get it wrong and the stack parks itself in front of the opening you use every day, so it is one of the first questions I ask at the measure.
How private can vertical blinds get?
Hunter Douglas grades the fabrics from sheer, which lets in the most light, to opaque, which gives the most privacy. The Groover option on a fabric vane takes it to opaque. I bring the range to the free in-home consultation so you can hold them up to your own door.
