Metal Blinds
Hunter Douglas Metal Blinds are durable, attractive blinds built for busy households, in two collections and dozens of colors.
Hunter Douglas Metal Blinds stand the test of time, with a wide range of colors and finishes. They are sleek, durable and easy to live with, which is why I put them in the rooms that get the most use: kitchens, bathrooms, kids' rooms, a home office. Hunter Douglas describes them as moisture resistant, so a steamy bathroom or the window over the sink is not a problem.
There are two collections. Décor has a 1 inch slat in 40 colors. Macro has a 2 inch slat in 18 colors. Between them they suit a room from modern to traditional. Tilt the slats open for the view, close them for complete privacy. The blinds are extremely lightweight, so even a larger one is easy to raise and lower.
There are no lift cords. SimpleLift™ is the standard: press the button on the bottom rail and set the height. The Cordless upgrade moves the lift into the headrail, so the blind rises with the touch of a finger and takes less effort. On the 2 inch Macro collection, Hunter Douglas adds PowerView® Automation for the tilt, so the slats open and close from a remote or the PowerView® App.
The PowerView® App is required for programmed operation.

Questions Jim gets
About Metal Blinds.
How do you clean metal blinds?
Lower the blind all the way, tilt the slats almost closed, and dust with a soft cloth or a dusting mitt. Leaving them slightly open lets you reach where the slats overlap. A vacuum with a brush attachment works too. Hunter Douglas warns against chemical solvents, scrubbing cleansers and ultrasonic cleaning, which damage the finish.
Which collection should I choose?
Décor, the 1 inch slat, has the bigger color range at 40. Macro, the 2 inch slat, comes in 18 colors. It is also the one that takes PowerView® Automation. I hold both in the opening so you can see them in your own light.
Can PowerView® Automation raise and lower metal blinds?
No, and Hunter Douglas is clear about it: on Metal Blinds, PowerView® Automation tilts the slats only. The lift stays SimpleLift™, so you raise and lower by hand and tilt from a remote or the PowerView® App.
