Provenance® Woven Wood Shades
Provenance® Woven Wood Shades are handcrafted from wood, reeds, grasses and bamboo, and they give a room the texture paint cannot.
Hunter Douglas Provenance® Woven Wood Shades are handcrafted from wood, reeds, grasses and bamboo, and they are what I reach for when a room feels flat. A woven natural material catches the light differently at every hour of the day. It brings a touch of the outdoors in, and a smooth fabric shade simply does not do that.
You are not locked into one shape. Provenance® Woven Wood Shades come in Roman, Waterfall Roman, Recessed Roman and Vertical Drapery styles, and the materials run from airy sheers to full opaques, including the refined, lighter weight Fine Weaves. A heavy weave and a Fine Weave in the same room are two completely different rooms.
Natural material has to be built right or it fails, so these are made to resist stretching, bowing and breaking. If you want the weave and you also want the room private, an independent liner goes behind it for flexible light control and improved energy efficiency, and the Top-Down/Bottom-Up design gives you light at the top with privacy at the bottom.

Questions Jim gets
About Provenance® Woven Woods.
Do woven wood shades give you privacy?
On their own, how much they give depends on how tight the weave is. The materials run from airy sheers all the way to full opaques. When a room needs real privacy and you still want the texture, I add the independent liner behind the weave, or I use Top-Down/Bottom-Up so the top is open and the bottom is covered.
Which style should I pick?
Roman, Waterfall Roman, Recessed Roman or Vertical Drapery, and the right one depends on the opening and where the stack sits in your sightline. That is a call I make standing in the room with the samples in my hand, not one you should make off a catalog page.
Will they hold up?
They are built to resist the stretching, bowing and breaking that ruins a natural-material shade, and they carry the Hunter Douglas Limited Lifetime Warranty, subject to the manufacturer's warranty terms. I stand behind every install I do. If something goes wrong, you call me and I answer.
