Vignette® Modern Roman Shades hold tailored fabric folds with no exposed rear cords, in a 4 inch full fold or a 6 inch flat fold.
Vignette® Modern Roman Shades are the Hunter Douglas take on a Roman shade, cleaned up. The design carries no exposed rear cords, so the folds stay even and the whole treatment reads tailored rather than draped. Clean, crisp, and contemporary is how Hunter Douglas describes it, and that is exactly how it hangs.
You pick the fold and the way it moves. Full folds at 4 inch or flat folds at 6 inch, and a rolling or a stacking shade. Fabrics run sheer, light filtering, or room darkening, across more than 25 fabric and color choices, with The Alustra® Collection on top of that. The shade insulates well on its own, and the room-darkening fabrics block heat gain, which matters on a west-facing room in July.
Vignette® Modern Roman Shades are available with PowerView® Automation, and also run on the UltraGlide® retractable wand, the cordless LiteRise® push and pull system, or the EasyRise™ cord loop. A Top-Down/Bottom-Up design or the Duolite® system gives one window light control and privacy together. Hunter Douglas builds them for arches, angles, trapezoids, circles and ovals, bay and corner windows, patio and sliding-glass doors, and French doors, and they carry the Hunter Douglas Limited Lifetime Warranty, subject to the manufacturer's warranty terms.

What is the difference between a rolling and a stacking shade?
Hunter Douglas offers Vignette® Modern Roman Shades as a rolling shade or a stacking shade. The choice changes what the window looks like when the shade is up, and it is far easier to see than to describe. I bring both to the consultation and raise them in your own window so you can watch the difference.
Can a Roman shade darken a bedroom?
Yes. Vignette® Modern Roman Shades come in sheer, light-filtering, and room-darkening fabric opacities, and Hunter Douglas notes that the room-darkening fabrics block heat gain as well. If you want the same window filtering light by day and going dark at night, the Duolite® system puts both fabrics on one headrail.
Are there cords hanging down the back?
No, and that is the design change. Vignette® Modern Roman Shades carry no exposed rear cords, which is why the folds stay even fold after fold. Operating options are the UltraGlide® wand, the cordless LiteRise® system, the EasyRise™ cord loop, and PowerView® Automation.
